Dr Chris Webster

Dr Chris Webster graduated from the RMIT Chiropractic program in 1983 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic). He commenced private practise in Essendon in that same year. Dr Webster sat and passed the National Board examinations to allow him to practise in the USA in that same year. Work related injuries and the postural rehabilitation have been interests that Dr Webster has followed in his 25 years of practise.

In 2002 he entered the LaTrobe University Occupational Health and Safety stream and completed the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma certifications. Dr Webster majored in Ergonomics. He is currently completing his masters thesis.

In 2007 he became a registered OHS Management auditor and mixes his private Chiropractic practise with consulting in Occupational Health and Safety.

Treatment of postural disorders and scoliosis have been a specialty in his practise.

Dr Emil Turudia

Dr.Emil Turudia has been a registered chiropractor in Victoria for over 20 years. In that time he has worked in various environments, including multi-disciplinary health clinics and his own private practice. Having played soccer at Victorian Premier League level and been involved in coaching and administration of soccer in local leagues, Emil maintains a keen interest in the treatment of sports injuries as well as general spinal care.

He also worked as a musculo-skeletal consultant at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne in 2007. He continues to be involved with Dr. Webster as an associate chiropractor, regularly performing pre-employment examinations, site inspections, working with sporting clubs and providing Occupational Health and Safety lectures.

Dr Mike Landry

Dr Mike Landry graduated in 1993 from Palmer College of Chiropractic inDavenportI Iowa. After practicing in the U.S. and Tasmania he relocated to the North Essendon/Niddrie area in 1997 with his family. He is the proud father of 3 teenage girls (includes a set of twins), and a six year old son.

Dr Landry has a special interest in postural rehabilitation,scoliosis and whiplash injuries. He is one of several inAustralia to be certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics. In addition he uses hypnosis to help others quit smoking, lose weight and achieve their goals

His sporting background includes a 2^nd degree Black Belt in Judo. He still active as judo instructor at Western Judo Academy, in Essendon.

He is an accomplished speaker, being involved with Toast Masters International for 15 years and currently serves as a Division Governor and is the Immediate Past President of Essendon Toast Masters Club Inc. He speaks to outside groups on health, motivation and life issues. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Brunswick.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural, non-invasive health care practice based on the premise that an active and healthy body depends upon a healthy nervous system. Your spine houses and protects key parts of the nervous system. Is chiropractic therapy safe?

Chiropractic is the largest non surgical, non drug prescribing health care profession in the world. Its popularity is largely due to its success helping millions of people world wide. The risk of a complication with neck adjusting (manipulation) is 6.39 per 10 million adjustments and 1in 100 million for low back adjustments.

So statistically, you are 24 thousand times worse off with neck surgery and 5 thousand times worse using off using anti-inflammatory drugs compared to seeing a Chiropractor and receiving a neck adjustment. Chiropractors enjoy lower insurance premiums than many other healthcare professions due to the low risk of chiropractic treatment.

What training and qualifications do chiropractors have?

Chiropractors in Australia complete a five year tertiary degree in Applied Science.In the course they are taught anatomy, physiology, diagnosis, clinical sciences, radiographic technique and interpretation. Chiropractors complete the same number of hours in Anatomy and Physiology as Medical students. Chiropractic University hours are double that of a standard physiotherapy degree.

Chiropractors are fully licensed health professionals who are governed by Registration Boards in every state of Australia. Government bodies such as Workcover, Comcare,Transport Accident, Veterans Affairs and more recently Medicare all recognise the benefits of Chiropractic by paying costs of treatment for people who are eligible under these schemes.

Your First Visit

When you are seen for the first time by our Chiropractors a thorough health history and examination is conducted to assess your problem. This will include a physical examination that includes orthopaedics tests, neurological tests, postural assessments and specific muscle tests (isolating each individual muscle and testing its ability).

These tests provide accurate information regarding the function and balanceof your body. Should x-rays be required, you will bulk billed on Medicare. Once the examination is complete, your chiropractor will recommend the best treatment to bring about the health changes you are seeking.
